Social Media Tips: Blog Carnivals
Finding innovative means of building your blog presence and reaching out to larger audiences can be accomplished with savvy Social Media Skills. Be attentive to what others are creating. Use many of those avenues to gain the skill and confidence to create your own pathways. Guest posting and commenting help add connections while Blog Carnivals can reach a larger audience. Blog Carnivals just like Fair Carnivals bring people or information together in one place. This view of the Vermont State Fair is an example of fun at Fairs. Digitially we connect people by links to other stories and post from other bloggers or writers.

One way to build connection and use Social Media is Blog Carnivals. Twitter chats done on Thursday under the hashtag #tourismchat is another Excellent form of using Social Media to connect and share ideas. The Tourism Chat brings together people in the industry, travel boards, and convention Bureau people to discuss a specific topic.
Sheila Scarborough ingenious idea of a blog carnival resulted in the Carnival of Cities. Published every two weeks with Sheila Organizing the efforts. Sheila has been running Carnival of Cities on both her Sheila’s Guide to Good Stuff and BootsnAll Family Travel Guide since 2007
